Web3 firm presents non-fungible tokens as a way to collect streaming royalties for a popular song.
The web3 music company anotherblock, based in the United States, made 300 royalty-linked NFT sales through their platform. Each token holder receives a part equal to 0.0033% of the streaming royalties for Rihanna's smash track "B*** Better Have My Money," released in 2015. The tokens were offered for sale for USD 210 each, and they were purchased within minutes. The purchasers of the NFT were given one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork, a one-of-a-kind musical track, and a real-world legal contract that outlined the parameters of the streaming royalties. The royalties are scheduled to be paid out on a semiannual basis, based on the revenue generated by streaming services, with the first payment due in February 2023. In addition, holders can access a gated community on Discord, participate in real-world events, and get priority access to new NFT releases.
