In order to bring attention to the importance of skin health equity, neighborhood murals have been restored.

Outdoor murals are a form of public art that is both for the people and for the people by reflecting the identity of a neighborhood while also adding color and character to the area. However, they are not immune to harm, which is unfortunate. In an effort to prevent the loss of cherished works of art across the United States, Vaseline has initiated a program called Mended Murals. This campaign combines the process of art restoration with advocacy for improved skin care for people of color.

Vaseline commissions the original artist of a piece to revitalize their work, which also provides an opportunity to discuss the significance of proper skin care. It was reported that murals in Baltimore, Maryland, Brooklyn, New York, and Hartford, Connecticut had been restored as of March 2024. Vaseline had requested that locals nominate artworks that were located in their own communities. Each piece that has been reconditioned has been augmented with a new component, which is a QR code that allows visitors to access SeeMySkin.com. SeeMySkin.com is a database that Vaseline has collaborated with to assist people of color in researching dermatological disorders and locating specialists who are knowledgeable in treating melanin-rich skin. Additionally, the brand is providing financial assistance to clinics that serve populations that are located near murals that have been restored.
