60-year-old wins Miss Universe Buenos Aires.
A lawyer and journalist named Alejandra Marisa Rodríguez, who was sixty years old at the time, was crowned Miss Universe Buenos Aires in the month of April in the year 2024. Previously, contestants over the age of 28 were not allowed to compete in any Miss Universe franchise. However, following a rule change in early 2024 anyone over 18 can compete. Although Rodríguez was ultimately defeated in the May 2024 Miss Argentina contest by 29-year-old Magalí Benejam, Rodríguez is the first sexagenarian to win a Miss Universe contest. Additionally, the updated rules permit women who are married, divorced, have given birth or are pregnant to compete.
