Among LGBTQ+ young people, a cosmetics brand is working to combat homelessness.

The Open Doors initiative was introduced by Kiehl's with the intention of providing youth who identify as LGBTQ+ who are homeless with crucial help. The initiative, which was developed in collaboration with the Ali Forney facility, provides a drop-in facility that is open around the clock, transitional housing, job training, and available health resources. The collaboration highlights the critical need to protect vulnerable communities and raise awareness about the predicament that they are in. Kiehl's intends to grow internationally with other agreements with non-governmental organizations when it first launches in New York in May of 2024. In order to support this, the company made a donation of USD 150,000, which allowed over 2,200 people to benefit.
