Access to positive male role models is made possible through the basketball program.
Gillette, which is owned by Procter & Gamble, entered into a partnership with the National Basketball Youth Mentorship Program (NBYMP) in Canada in March 2024. The purpose of this partnership was to provide young men with increased access to positive role models and to capitalize on the confidence-building features of basketball. In addition to educational sessions, Gillette and NBYMP will provide opportunities for mentorship to young people in marginalized communities. These possibilities will be available both in-person and virtually. For the purpose of highlighting the significance of role models, a survey conducted by Gillette found that 86 percent of young men around the world felt that having a role model can assist them in being themselves. Additionally, Gillette's has a collaboration with the Toronto Raptors on an ongoing basis.
