Kairos & Esusu

Renters can enhance their credit ratings with the assistance of a pilot program.

Kairo Investment Management startup, a private equity firm focusing on real estate investment, has partnered with Esusu. This fintech startup develops solutions that enable renters to report their payments to the three major credit agencies. The goal of this partnership is to assist low-income individuals in rebuilding their credit. The credit-building tool was made available to 19 of Kairos' affordable housing developments, which account for over 4,000 units spread across seven states, including Florida and Oregon. Instead of merely reporting late rental payments to credit bureaus, landlords can record payments made on time for rental properties. Esusu collaborated with Freddie Mac to aid in covering a portion of the costs associated with signing up for landlords. The announcement was made in March of 2022.
