New feature puts fans in the spotlight.
In May of 2024, TikTok introduced a feature called Fan Spotlight, which empowered artists to showcase their most cherished videos from their fans. Artists can pin up to five fan videos on their music tab for seven days. Everytime a video is selected, chosen fans receive a notification. The social media platform launched the new functionality during Billie Eilish's TikTok takeover, which also included album-themed challenges and special animations. Shortly after its debut, Fan Spotlight was made available to all artists on TikTok.
