Cohere For AI (C4AI) is responsible for the development of Aya, which is a multilingual generative LLM that is open-source and includes 101 languages. It has the potential to establish new standards in language comprehension, summarization, and translation across a wide range of domains, and it has greatly outperformed other models in benchmark testing. C4AI released the Aya Collection in February 2024, concurrently with the launch of Aya. This collection is the largest multilingual instruction fine-tuned dataset, containing 513 million prompts and completions in 114 different languages. Included in this is the Aya Dataset, which has around 204,000 questions that have been vetted and annotated by speakers of 67 different languages. The nonprofit artificial intelligence research lab at the Cohere company, which is situated in the United States, is called Cohere For AI.
