Moonbird

The portable breathing coach competes with the various sleep apps.

The Moonbird, a Belgian technology startup, has invented a device that costs 199 dollars and is supposed to help people sleep and reduce stress through the use of guided breathing exercises. Since its introduction in 2021, the device that is about the size of a palm has been utilized by 35,000 clients all over Europe. A device that looks like a little bird expands and contracts, and users are advised to pace their breathing to the rhythm of the device's expansion and contraction phases. Stefanie Broes, the Chief Executive Officer and founder of the company, emphasized the non-digital approach of the device as a crucial differentiation in a market that is crowded with meditation apps. In January of 2024, Moonbird made public their intention to enter the market in the United States.
