No matter what type of washer you have, this laundry filter will catch 98% of microfibers.
The Less Microfiber Filter is an external filter that can be attached to any washing machine. Samsung devised this product with the intention of reducing the amount of microplastic contamination in the environment. The microplastics that would normally run into the wastewater system and maybe forward into rivers and oceans are stated to be captured by the filter, which was developed in collaboration with Patagonia and conservationists at Ocean Wise. An estimated 98% of these microplastics are eliminated. As a result of using the filter while washing four loads of four kilograms each week for a period of one year, Samsung has determined that the equivalent of eight plastic bottles containing 500 milliliters will be prevented from entering sewer systems. It is recommended that the Less Microfiber Filter be cleaned approximately once per month. Additionally, it is connected to the SmartThings platform that Samsung offers in order to notify consumers when fibers are beginning to accumulate. In June of 2023, the device will be introduced in South Korea, where it will be sold at a retail price of KRW 150,000 (USD 117/EUR 108). The device is constructed utilizing recycled plastics. After then, there will be a rollout on a global scale.
