Chinese music legends are brought back to life by computer programs.
Tencent Music Entertainment (TME) announced hat it has produced and distributed more than 1,000 songs incorporating vocals synthesized by AI that resemble the human voice. The so-called Lingyin Engine can make creative songs in any style and language by swiftly and vividly recreating performers' voices. TME paid homage to some of the most iconic Chinese and Taiwanese vocalists who have passed away by using the AI engine. Among those honored were Anita Mui and Teresa Teng. Tencent claims that one of the songs produced by the AI has been streamed more than 100 million times.
