Latin American Fashion Awards

The Latin American fashion industry is honored during the awards ceremony.

In November of 2023, the Dominican Republic played host to the very first Latin American Fashion Awards, which was a three-day event that celebrated regional designers and brands. The event was attended by a number of celebrities. Several categories, such as Designer of the Year and Brand of the Year, were among those that were honored with such awards. Chilean Ecocitax, which converts old clothing into wool and yarn, and Mexican startup Desserto, which developed a vegan alternative to leather from a cactus, were both nominated for the Responsible Project of the Year award. Both of these companies were awarded the award. J Balvin, who was named the Icon of the Year, gave a performance to bring the event to a great close.
